While the LF3 is a fantastic engine platform, the intercooler system can be a bit of an Achilles heel that can rob you of power. Once you've made sure you have the intercooler system bled properly and the pump working, the next area to address is the factory heat exchangers. In typical GM fashion they used a small/thin heat exchanger capped with plastic end tanks. Upgrading that heat exchanger greatly increases the coolant capacity, cooling capabilities, and can lead to more power over time. Our ZZP heat exchanger is full aluminum construction, including larger than stock end tanks.

The ZZPerformance upgraded heat exchanger drops directly in place of the stock center mounted heat exchanger. It will install with your stock hoses, however they will take a little persuasion to fit onto the larger barbs. Includes two german style non-marring clamps.
