Our ZZPerformance spherical control arm bushings (CABs) are an excellent upgrade if you're looking to tighten up the handling on your Delta chassis Ecotec powered vehicle. These bushings are a full metal spherical joint that replaces the stock rubber bushing at the rear of the control arm; they're also referred to as trailing control arm bushings.
A spherical bearing uses a ball and socket design that resists deflection and flex under load, meaning more of the cornering forces are transferred to the strut/spring as intended, rather than a rubber bushing that will flex. When you're looking to get the most handling capability out of your vehicle, reducing the amount of rubber in the suspension is always a good idea. Since these bushings are a spherical bearing they may induce more NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) into the cabin; however they are sealed with a rubber boot so you do not have to worry about road salt and debris. These bushings are a step above our solid control arm bushings in terms of performance.
Installation note: These bearings are intended to be a tight press fit into the control arm; because of this heat will be needed on the bushing end of the control arm prior to installation (once original bushing is removed). A manual or hydraulic press is required for install.
These bushings are intended only for the FE3/FE5 aluminum control arms. Will NOT fit stamped steel control arms. Fits: Chevrolet Cobalt SS, Chevrolet HHR SS, Pontiac G5, and Saturn Ion Redline. Will fit base model versions of those vehicles if you have installed aluminum control arms.
