This brake kit is the perfect upgrade for anyone looking to massively improve the stopping power on their W-Body platform car, all at a reasonable price. The kit uses standard sized GXP (12.7") rotors as a base, so replacements are readily available and easy to find. We then use a custom ZZP caliper shim to center the 4 piston ZZP caliper correctly onto the rotor for even pad wear. This kit is easy to install, easy to service, and is a huge upgrade over the existing single and 2 piston floating caliper brake kits available. You will have a stronger, firmer pedal feel, reduced stopping distance, and less resistance to fade with the larger rotor and increased pad surface.
Fits all W-body 3800 cars, W-Body LS4 cars, and H-body cars. Fits 18" wheels and up, may fit some 17" wheels.
The stock braking systems may have been adequate in the 90's, but are a far cry from anything "performance" orientated today. The stock Grand Prix rotor is only 10.9" and the larger Monte Carlo was only 12". The single piston calipers on w-body cars fade quickly because of their small pad surface area, with nearly 4x the surface area these brakes will ensure reduced stopping distance as well as fade free driving. The stock calipers are also cast and these ZZP calipers are aluminum. The difference in weight on the caliper makes up for the difference in rotor size and weight.
Includes:
- 4 piston ZZP calipers
- ZZP caliper shim
- Ceramic brake pads
- 12.7" rotors (drilled or cross drilled/slotted)
- Caliper pins and clips
- Goodridge stainless longer brake lines (if purchased)
These brakes require the longer stainless brake lines from Goodridge. We include the option to purchase these lines right with the brake kit if needed. Make sure to choose your options accordingly.
Note: the calipers included in the kit can vary in color and finish slightly. Most have a blue/purple hue to them, but can be closer to grey as well.
Installation note: You will re-use your stock caliper bracket bolts with the new calipers. Due to casting differences in various knuckles across the W-Body line you may not need to use the included caliper spacer/shim.
