STICK WITH THE EXPERTS: DAVIS' LTG CAMARO
CHAPTER 1:
THE MOD BUG
Davis wasted no time after getting his new LTG Camaro. He jumped right in to modding with some of our very own ZZP parts. Everyone is excited to mod their new car. As car people, we see a different vision when buying a car than most do. We see the potential, a project, and something far more exciting than just a stock car. Davis got some guidance from one of ZZP's in house Camaro Experts, Tyler. Tyler competes in a ZZP powered LTG camaro in the Northeast Roadcourse and Autocross circuits, including Gridlife. The two also share a common interest in bright colors.
CHAPTER 2:
IT'S NOT ALL FUN AND GAMES
Davis mentions how awesome his bolt on car felt, until his build hit an unfortunate halt. Davis had taken his car to a local performance shop to tune his car with the new mods, to gain some of the power he had left on the table. Sadly, this decision ended with a destroyed engine. Davis was at a crossroad, and we are very happy he chose to go the route he did from here.
"Instead of purchasing ZZP and trying to find some other local shop to put it together hoping they did it right, I just decided to trailer my car to ZZP and drop it off to the LTG experts." - Davis
The car came and left ZZP better than ever. Now sporting a ZZP built motor including forged internals, Stage II Cams, an Intercooler, and a tune. Davis already has his sights on the ZZP LTG ZFR Turbo for next summer.
LTG engines can be delicate in the wrong hands; ZZP preaches to only have very experienced LTG tech's lay their hands on them, especially a modified example.
CHAPTER 3:
WHY CAMARO? WHY 4 CYLINDER? WHY SHOCK?
It's always exciting to have a special car here at the shop, and this build was no exception. The color is of course the first to note, and Davis mentioned how awesome the color was to him once he first saw it. We can't disagree. The color is not for everyone, but if you want to turn some heads, this will do the job and then some.
Davis comes from a motorcycle background, with a passion especially for track days and racing. With plans to track the camaro as well, he opted for the four cylinder. A more affordable option, good reviews, and a pretty good track package was all he needed to fall in love.
"The car handles really well with the stock suspension, but I always end up passing a ton of people with big motors on corner entry only to have them blow past me on the straight away for me to pass them again in the brake zone."
- Davis
